Cancellation & refund policy
How to cancel a booking, what happens if a tutor cancels, and how refunds work.

Cancelling your session
You can cancel an upcoming session yourself from your student dashboard at any time before it starts. Open the session and choose to cancel it — the slot is released immediately and the tutor is told.
What comes back to you depends on how much notice the tutor gets, because the time you booked is time they turned other work away for. The window is measured from the session's scheduled start, using our own clock rather than your device's.
What a cancellation refunds
90% of what you paid is refunded. The remaining 10% goes to the tutor, who turned other work away to hold the slot.
The rate does not change with how close to the lesson you cancel. There is no window in which cancelling is free, and none in which you lose the whole booking.
Eduviq keeps none of the cancellation fee. It is paid to the tutor.
There is no free cancellation window. Booking a tutor takes an hour out of their week the moment you do it, and every band above reflects what that hour is worth by then.
If a tutor cancels or reschedules
You are never charged for a session your tutor cancels. We offer the session to other tutors who fit it straight away, and if one takes it, it goes ahead at the same time, price and place.
If nobody can take it, the booking is cancelled and you are refunded in full — and the tutor pays 10% of the booking, which we hand to you as credit towards your next lesson. A tutor who simply does not turn up is treated exactly the same way: you are refunded in full, they are paid nothing for the lesson, and the 10% comes to you as credit.
You can also ask for a different time instead of cancelling. A change request goes to the tutor and costs nothing by itself; the session keeps its original time, and its cancellation window, until the tutor agrees to the new one.
Refunds
Refunds go back to the card, account or UPI handle you paid from. Eduviq does not hold a balance for you and never has one to refund into. A refund typically reaches you within 5–7 working days, depending on your bank.
Where a session was authorised but not yet charged, we simply collect the part you owe and release the rest — you will not see a charge and a refund for the same booking.
Fees for at-home, online, and coaching-centre sessions are hourly rates shown in full before you pay.
No-shows
If you do not attend a confirmed session without cancelling, the session is marked a no-show and it is settled as though it had run: the tutor is paid and nothing is refunded.
If your tutor does not attend, tell us from the session in your dashboard once 10 minutes have passed. You are refunded in full, and the tutor’s 10% comes to you as credit towards your next lesson.
Courses
The windows above apply to individual lessons. A course is enrolled in as a whole, so it is not cancelled from the dashboard — write to support@eduviq.com and we will sort it out with you.
If a tutor ends a course early, the meetings that will not now happen are refunded as their share of the term.
